Dear Patrons,
We're working hard these days to continue to bring you a wide variety of
top-flight performances like the ones you've told us you have enjoyed --and
expect--over the years.
At the same time, we want your attendance at the El Campanil to be a pleasant
experience. That's why, through prudent management of our limited resources, we
continue to make improvements. You've no doubt enjoyed our new air conditioning
and heating system that was installed last summer for your comfort. Last month
we added new lighting to more easily guide you up the stairs to the loge and
opera sections.
In short, we want to ensure that our beautifully restored theater remains the
aesthetic gem that you've told us it is.
All of this takes money, your help, and a large dose of reality:
• Although some of the dollars we receive come from corporations and
foundations, they've been impacted like everyone else by the current economy.
They have fewer dollars to give out. Some have cut back entirely.
• Revenue from ticket sales covers only a small portion of our costs. These
costs including utilities, insurance and staff continue to rise.
It hasn't been easy, but we've been able to balance our budget. We've done so in
large part because of generous patrons like you -patrons who want to continue to
enjoy quality entertainment close to home.
May we once again count on your critical financial support?
We need to raise $25,000 by September 1. Your donation will help us achieve that
goal.
Because we are a non-profit organization, your contributions are fully tax
deductible (we'll send you a receipt for the IRS).
Thank you in advance for your generosity - and for attending shows at El
Campanil Theatre.

How Your Donations
Have Helped - And Will Help
El Campanil Theatre and Our Community
Over the past
year, we:
- presented 115 live performances, ranging from classical music, to Broadway
musicals, to tribute bands and community events;
- Served approximately 125 children and youth through our intensive Children's
Theatre program, at no cost to participants;
- Welcomed more than 10,000 school children to performances including symphonic
concerts, live theater, and educational entertainment;
- Served thousands of seniors through specifically-tailored programs, such as
Vagabond Players productions and the 1940's hit swing musical In The Mood;
- Replaced our 80-year-old heating and air conditioning system to provide more
comfort to our patrons, become more energy-efficient, and lowered our utility
costs.
Since July 2004, more than 190,000 patrons from Antioch, Pittsburg, Brentwood,
Oakley, and other cities and unincorporated areas in the region have attended
cultural events at El Campanil Theatre. During the past year, we welcomed 35,000
patrons. Our programming serves people of all ages.
